Om nom nom pizza.

I love pizza. I love making it, and I love eating it. I think there’s nothing better in this world than being able to make the foods you love.
I’m baking a pizza right now, and the dough is based from a simple thin crust recipe I found online back in January. It consists of…
- 2 ½ cups flour
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 ¾ tsp baking powder
- 1 cup water
What I’ll do is dump all the ingredients except the water into a large plastic bowl suitable for mixing. Then I’ll gradually add the water while mixing it all together with my hands in order to get the the dough to the right feel and texture I want. Keep adding water until the dough is holding together pretty well, and then once it gets just a tiny bit sticky I put some flour on my cutting board and knead the dough on it.
You can start spreading it on a pizza pan right away, no need to wait for it to rise. As for sauce, there are all kinds of pizza sauces you can buy. Sometimes I’ll use ordinary spaghetti sauce… it doesn’t matter as long as it’s tomato sauce.
Classico brand sauce is good, especially their Spicy Red Pepper. Delicious on a pizza! Then of course whatever other toppings you want to add. I recently used some spicy pepper salami which turned out amazing. I like adding marble cheese on top.
Pizza is great for customizing based on whatever you’re in the mood for. That’s why I love it. And it’s so quick and easy to make. This whole recipe takes 30 minutes from scratch to fully cooked. When you order a pizza and have it delivered, it takes that long anyway.
What geek doesn’t like pizza? Making it yourself is even better.
